Hubdoc Supports Canadian Dollar Pricing

April 28, 2016 Jamie McDonald

As of May 1, 2016, our Canadian customers will be billed in their home currency. No more worrying about the dizzying change in your software prices due to currency fluctuations or the hassle of a 2.5% foreign exchange fee on your Hubdoc credit card charge. This is great news in that it delivers cost certainty to all of our accountant and bookkeeper customers who have a fixed monthly billing model.

The icing on the cake is that we will now charge sales tax in Canada based on where you consume the service instead of the flat 13% HST rate that we have been charging up until now. Customers in Alberta will be happy.

The cherry on top is that later in May, volume discounts will be applied in real-time to your monthly bill. No more seeing a charge from Hubdoc and then a credit two days later.

Here are the details:

1) Retail price of C$25 per Hubdoc account per month.  Standard volume discounts apply to this rate if you are paying for more than five Hubdoc accounts. Tax will be applied on the amount.

2) Beginning May 1, 2016, Canadian customers will be billed in CAD. No action required.

3) Note: if you use a USD credit card to pay for your Hubdoc account and your billing address is in Canada, you are going to want to update your billing information in Hubdoc with a new CAD credit card. Otherwise, you will get charged C$25 on your USD credit card. More pesky FX fees.

Enjoy. And thanks for your patience in getting this out the door for you,
